STEP 03

Pass the Assessment

Some online-work platforms don't hire you immediately after your application.

You may first have to complete an assessment, test, interview, or qualification process.

This is where many applicants drop off.

What Assessments May Test

  • Critical thinking
  • Writing ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Research skills
  • AI-related knowledge
  • Technical skills
  • Communication
  • Problem-solving

The Important Thing

Understand the instructions before you start.

  • Don't rush.
  • Read the question carefully.
  • Understand what is being requested.
  • Then provide your answer based on the instructions.

Use AI Tools Only When Allowed

If the platform allows AI assistance, you can use tools such as:

  • OBS
  • Cluely
  • Parakeet AI
  • ChatGPT
  • Gemini
  • Claude
  • Perplexity
  • And many other AI tools

Assessment Rule: Use AI Smartly

AI can help you during an assessment when the platform allows it, but don't let AI do everything for you.

Use AI tools to research, brainstorm, clarify instructions, or improve your work.

But always check the platform's rules first.

If AI or external assistance is not allowed, don't use it. Trying to bypass assessment rules can lead to rejection, disqualification, or account restrictions.

Remember: AI should make you better, not replace your ability.

The goal isn't just to pass the assessment. The goal is to prove that you're capable of doing the actual work.

The assessment is your chance to prove your application wasn't just words.
